My first(and hopefully last) broken bone... I was wondering why the finger that I "bruised" working on my truck Mar. 8 still hurt and the swelling wasn't going down. I was adjusting the bands on my truck transmission, loosening a locknut that gave way abruptly - I then smashed my finger between the breaker bar and a header flange bolt. Of course it didn't help that I was still sawing and hammering on the floor installation, moving heavy boxes, etc. for a week and a half before discovering that I needed a splint...

Out in the cold

The oaks I cut down this weekend were almost completely engulfed in poison ivy. This is the granddaddy poison ivy vine, three inches in diameter(Figuring in the bark that chipped off of the left side)! The urushiol oil that causes the rash turns black when it oxidizes in air.

Just prior to filling in the driveway area. Getting down this hill safely in myy 4x4 with mud tires always involved cranking the wheel to the right and gassing it to avoid the oak with the reflector on it.

This madrone blew over in a storm and was hanging on a phone line. I sought professional help getting this one to the ground.

Christmas eve, expecting family and I had to cut these saplings that were brought down onto the road by a mini mudslide.
